The final and current phase of the American Cancer Society National Consortium for Cancer Screening and Care is to mobilize around sustained, coordinated commitments to promote cancer screening and care as a public health priority and improve the long-term effectiveness of screening programs. To ensure favorable outcomes from our collective work, the ACS National Consortium is committed to taking action and advancing key recommendations in 2022. Ongoing activities will aim to sharpen our focus and target our efforts to activate national and local organizations in the implementation of consensus recommendations.

Mobilization Summits
Summit #3: Recovering & Improving Cancer Screening & Care Throughout the Pandemic
On December 2, 2021, the ACS National Consortium hosted its third Summit to discuss how to increase knowledge about the recommendations and enhance the national conversation around cancer screening and care along the cancer continuum. As the first step of mobilization, consortium members committed to increasing awareness and adoption of the consensus recommendations.

On July 12, 2022, the ACS National Consortium hosted its fourth Summit for members to showcase and share details on how their organizations are successfully taking action on the consensus recommendations. Members also explored how to best sustain and expand their commitments to implementing the consensus recommendations through both individual organizations and coordinated partnerships.

On October 13, 2022, the ACS National Consortium hosted its fifth Summit for members to showcase and share details on how their organizations are successfully taking action on the consensus recommendations. Members continued to explore how to best sustain and expand their commitments to implementing the consensus recommendations through both individual organizations and coordinated partnerships.
Summit #6: Recovering & Improving Cancer Screening & Care Throughout the Pandemic
On December 8, 2022, the ACS National Consortium hosted its sixth and final Summit for members to showcase and share details of how their organizations are successfully taking action on the consensus recommendations. Additionally, members reviewed general evaluation findings from 2021 and 2022 and discussed opportunities to maintain their strong partnerships as they continue to collaborate beyond the ACS National Consortium.

Consensus Recommendations Report
Throughout 2021, the ACS National Consortium developed consensus recommendations that inform a national response to the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to its detrimental impact on our progress in cancer screening and care in the US. These consensus recommendations have been published in a new report Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Improving Cancer Screening and Care in the US.
